Quiet aftermath

Guess what? The video hasn’t won.
Note that, had it won, I would have used the form “We have won”. That’s sofa-psychology for you…
Anyway, no matter how detached and objective one tries to be, not winning is disappointing. But not as disappointing as the slightly bad taste the event left in my mouth – metaphorically, as the finger food was quite nice actually: if the ceremony has to be considered as representative of the people involved in the music industry…god help us!
A circus.
Enough said.
Luckily, there was also a good part to the event: JJ, Dave (drummer extraordinaire) and I hadn’t been in the same room together in ages. Probably for more than a year. No need for hugs and tears (!), it felt very natural to meet and chat away – as if we had last met just a few days earlier.
A common enough feeling, I agree, but one that is always good to rediscover.

Should I mention the fact that at 9.30pm I was already on the bus home and the lads had gone to the movies? What kind of rockstar would ever do that on an Awards night?!

All right then: I won’t mention that…
